Tuk Tuk

Creating a vibrant restaurant interior design scheme. Following the success of their first Edinburgh restaurant, Tuk Tuk appointed Four-by-Two to develop the concept for their sister restaurant in Glasgow. Located on Sauchiehall Street’s bustling thoroughfare, Tuk Tuk Glasgow was to be a vibrant, energetic space that would stop people in their tracks.

A dynamic timber canopy sits at the front of the space, drawing the eye into the restaurant, where a raft of 190 paint-dipped terracotta lassi cups suspended from the ceiling form a colourful light feature. Stretching the length of the main dining space, a 14 metre-long Indian-inspired hand-painted mural by local artists Ciaran Glöbel and Conzo Throb adds a truly unique touch. Pioneers of the concept of traditional Indian food with an innovative approach, Tuk Tuk is a design-led independent restaurant. Reflecting this, the vaulted ceiling which stretches from the front to the rear of the long narrow restaurant draws inspiration from traditional Indian tuk tuks and their brightly decorated interiors. A series of colourful structures and artworks subdivide the restaurant, providing a fun, vibrant restaurant interior design scheme.
