On the Isle of Skye, one of the most beautiful and rugged islands of the Inner Hebrides archipelago is Skyeskyns — a second-generation family tanning business located in Waternish. Working in collaboration with Skyeskyns, Four-by-Two were delighted to develop a bespoke concept solution for a new retail outlet in Portree.
Building on a strong heritage, the new space embodies the vision for the family and how the business will look to evolve moving forward. The concept was to capture the essence of the product, and the hands-on nature of the tanning process by contrasting the softness of the skins against raw timbers and bare plaster.
TRANSFORMING SMALL SPACES IS ALL ABOUT THE CLEVER USE OF LIGHT AND COMBINATION OF CONTRASTING MATERIALS. FOUR BY TWO CREATED A STUNNING CONTEMPORARY INTERIOR, A BACKDROP TO SHOWCASE SKYESKYNS HAND-CRAFTED ARTISAN PRODUCTS WITH AMAZING COFFEE AND CAKE.
