At our studio, we believe student living should do more than serve a practical purpose—it should inspire balance and well-being. Parklands Dundee embodies this vision, combining energising industrial character with a calming, restorative atmosphere. The interiors draw on the building’s past as a jute mill, blending raw, exposed structures and robust finishes with warm textures, natural tones, and inviting details. This contrast creates spaces that feel both dynamic and soothing, where students can be motivated by day and fully unwind by night.
Student bedrooms are designed as serene retreats. Neutral palettes, tactile materials, and considered layouts foster a quiet, uncluttered environment, with ample storage ensuring a sense of order. Each room balances comfort and functionality, offering a perfect space for study, rest, and recharging.
Communal areas support connection and contemplation alike. The vibrant games area encourages social interaction, while the Sky Lounge, with panoramic city views, offers a reflective escape above the bustle.
The identity and wayfinding strategy draw inspiration from Dundee’s striking Art Deco architecture and the cherry tree blossoms that brighten the city each spring. Bold, clear signage is seamlessly integrated into the building, enhancing its character while guiding residents with ease. Adding to this, expansive floor-to-ceiling wallpaper showcases iconic destinations across Dundee and Scotland, celebrating place and heritage in a radiant and visually striking way. Together, these vibrant, welcoming, and inspiring elements blend form and function to create a dynamic, colourful, and flourishing sense of belonging. The experience is playful yet memorable, engaging yet harmonious—ultimately uplifting for all who encounter it.
