Every Casualty Counts

Every Casualty Counts is exclusively focused on promoting effective casualty recording in situations of armed violence. An independent not-for-profit organisation, it has more than a decade’s experience of working with civil society organisations, national authorities and international organisations to promote best practice in casualty recording worldwide.

By catalysing recognition of and commitment to the value of casualty recording, Every Casualty Counts increases awareness of and engagement with standards and tools, so that wherever there is war, there is casualty recording. Through its evidence-based advocacy, Every Casualty Counts influences policymaking, both at state and United Nations levels.

Four-by-Two was approached by Every Casualty Worldwide (as it was known then) to strengthen the organisation’s visual appearance and deliver a marque that would convey its core values, as well as elevating brand awareness. A slight shift in the naming strategy — to Every Casualty Counts — further strengthened the organisation’s external presence.

The newly adopted visual identity, developed across team workshops and a thoughtful branding exercise, enables more effective communication of the organisation’s purpose, while underscoring its goal of casualty recording.

Developing and maintaining a strong and consistent brand identity helps people recognise and connect with this vital service, further elevating brand awareness.
