Four-by-Two created the interior for The Bear’s Larder, an urban farm store based on the theme of ‘home’ and supporting local, independent producers.
The brief called for a combination of nostalgia, warmth and an inviting shopping experience, which would immerse customers in a cosy, countryside farm shop atmosphere while showcasing the finest Scottish produce.
Embracing the owners’ passion for food and drink, Four-by-Two’s interior designers instilled a touch of unapologetic “nerdiness” for culinary delights. The store’s layout and design, meanwhile, were meticulously planned to evoke a sense of welcome and comfort. On entering, customers are transported to the charm of a small countryside farm shop, surrounded by a blend of rustic decor and warm lighting; the perfect environment for staff to engage with customers and share their knowledge on food-related topics.
Through clever merchandising and display arrangements, the hand-selected products take centre stage, inviting customers to explore and discover unique and delicious offerings.
The resulting larder concept store not only celebrates the rich and diverse flavours of Scotland but also creates a memorable and enjoyable shopping experience, capturing customers’ hearts with its unique charm and passion for all things food and drink.
