The creative team behind award-winning restaurant The Gardener’s Cottage have delivered another exceptional addition to the Edinburgh food scene with the launch of new eatery, Quay Commons. Creating a space that was sympathetic to the architecture, history and vibe of Leith and its immediate locale on the Shore meant showcasing original features of the building and keeping a minimal, industrial feel throughout. Echoing Quay Commons philosophy of seasonal diversity and simple, freshly prepared dishes, along with artisan breads and pastries helped achieve a multi-functional interior that allows the produce to take a central focus within the environment.

The space we wanted to achieve is slick and stripped back with features and design details reflective of its uses past and present. The polished concrete floor establishes a bright and minimal interior while the crisp teal paint and bespoke iron shelving play homage to the heritage of the port. The interior itself is a hive of activity both with nearby creative and corporate businesses, not to mention the Quay Commons staff who are busily baking and designing new and exciting food offerings daily. Quay Commons is bold in its values and with the ever-changing clientele throughout the day, a trusted sense of community is infused within the environment; one in which you can both work, socialise and relax.
